My main aim is to guide pupils through the intricacies of learning to play their chosen instrument in an enjoyable way and I firmly believe that it is a learning process and not a taught one. The rate of progress of a pupil is, in my opinion and based on many years of experience, directly related to the amount of practice, the quality of practice and effort put in by the pupil. My personal taste in music is wide including ‘classical’, early music, jazz and traditional folk music. I am a playing member and chairman of Redruth Town Band – a late convert to brass banding! I try an pass my enthusiasm on to my pupils. |
